Race Disparities
Race and racial inequity are inextricably linked with America’s past and future. In this episode, profiles of people of color bring to life startling data on racial disparities in the Twin Cities. Organizations like the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center, Pillsbury United Communities/Emerge, Neighborhood House and the African American Men Project provide engaging and thoughtful insights on the issues.

Class Disparities
This program reminds us of the uniquely American schism of the haves and the have-nots. Through a look at Latino labor union members, a local food shelf, and a young mother’s struggles with work, school, home and homelessness we see how seemingly inescapable the challenges of class remain.

The problem of 'place' is a growing challenge for both individuals and regions throughout Minnesota. With limited transportation options, how do workers living in the city get to the jobs that are more and more found in the suburbs? What does a resurgence of school segregation in South Minneapolis mean for the entire region’s future? The Institute on Race & Poverty offers a sobering view on these issues.
